Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable may be one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood and one of PEOPLE’s sexiest men alive, but to date this down-to-earth heartthrob, a woman will have to a be a sports fan.

“She’s got to be able to hang. I’m big into sports and if she can sit down and try to learn, that’s cool,” Annable told PEOPLE at the Project A.L.S. “A Night to Believe” benefit at Mets’ Shea stadium. “As long as they put down that valiant effort is what I’m looking for.”

But if a girl doesn’t have the hand-eye coordination skills, that’s all right says the single actor. “I will give her a couple of times and if she doesn’t catch on, that’s fine,” he said. “But for her to sit down and watch football and figure out the rules and watch hockey or baseball with me would be the best.”

But a relationship deal breaker for the 28-year-old upstate New York native is cheering against the New York Mets. “That’s definitely a deal breaker! It would be off! I’m a die hard Mets fan. Mets only,” said Annable who grew up playing little league baseball. Continue…

In regards to the post made earlier in the week, the next season of Brothers & Sisters will in fact be 24 episodes not 27. Still that is two whole extra hours of the Walkers!

Fantastic news! In case you haven’t heard, Brothers & Sisters has been renewed for a third season this fall! The first day of the end of the strike and ABC made a huge announcement yesterday, that it has picked up 9 of it’s existing shows for another year. Also picked up are Desperate Housewives, Lost, Ugly Betty and many more!

There’ll be no shortage of Dave anytime soon! Unfortunately, this season of B&S will be somewhat shortened due to the strike. As we reported last week, once they begin filming again they could crank out 4-5 new episodes, giving us a season total of 16-18 episodes. Hopefully they’ll add a couple more episodes onto season three, but whatever happens we will have a full season in September!

According to TV Guide’s Ausiello, Dave and the cast of Brothers & Sisters could be heading back to work within the next few weeks! The writers’ strike is expected to be called to an end this coming week and ABC has put into place plans for it’s hit shows Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy to produce four - five new episodes to air in April/May. With a tentative agreement between striking writers and Hollywood moguls expected to be announced sometime this week, my moles at Grey’s tell me that production on the show is expected to resume in early March. The plan is to shoot four or five episodes to air in April/May.

A similar scenario is expected to play out at two other ABC hits, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters.

Dave is currently in Arizona for the Superbowl and was seen partying it up with fellow TV star, Josh Duhamel by E! Online:

Josh Duhamel showed up sans Fergie, instead hanging with Dave Annable, while Jerry O’Connell partied Rebecca-less with his brother, Charlie.

Dave has signed on to play at Michael Douglas’ annual Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf event, due to take place next Sunday, February 10th. The event will air on NBC from 2pm-4pm.

Who: Among the celebrities expected to play are: Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Heather Locklear, Morgan Freeman, Alice Cooper, Martin Sheen, Kyle MacLachlan, Jack Wagner, Dave Annable.

Seems the press is very undecided on Dave’s love life, according to Page Six, Dave has split from co-star Emily VanCamp. In recent months, he’s also been linked to Mary-Kate Olsen and Nadine Coyle of British girl band, Girls Aloud. Take this for what it’s worth:

Looks like it’s strictly “siblings” for Brothers & Sisters costars Dave Annable and Emily Van Kamp. Sources tell PageSix.com that the actors’ romance, running hot and cold for the past eight months, has finally ended.

Fellow cast member Matthew Rhys took Annable to club Goa in Los Angeles last night to celebrate his solo status, our spy says.

“He’s newly single, so Matthew wanted to get him back on the horse,” the source said.

And saddle up he did, with one lady in particular—a fuller-figured brunette that the spy said “had more junk in the trunk than a Honda.” We’re told the two canoodled for hours, drinking all the while.

Just last week at the Sundance Film Festival, Annable, Rhys and Van Kamp were partying together at the Entertainment Weekly bash in Park City. The three seemed chummy, taking turns getting rounds at the bar and circulating the bash as a unit.

Hopefully the platonic chemistry will remain on the set of Brothers & Sisters, where Annable and VanKamp star as half-siblings alongside cast members Sally Fields, Calista Flockhart and Rachel Griffiths.
